1969 Car with the latest bid for $2.3 Million on eBay, kidding me??

No kidding, it's the "General Lee" Dodge Charger R/T that Duke, aka John Schneider, aka Jonathan Kent, is auctioning off, what appears to be the lone remaining original General Lee. The bidding has reached $2.3 million on eBay.

 

While one might stop just short of calling it "The most famous model of the most famous car in the world!" as the seller does, but this is supposedly one of the most iconic cars in cinematic history. And when the seller happens to be one of the stars of the show that made the car famous, well, this is one of the most valuable star cars in recent memory. According to John, this particular car was one of the cars featured in the last REAL Dukes of Hazzard movie, "Dukes Go To Hollywood". The underside of the the hood is autographed by all of the surviving orginal cast members and crew from the TV show, as well. It was also the prototype for all of the General Lees used in the most recent Jessica Simpson Dukes of Hazzard movie.
 

And lest you think this General is all show and no go, it sports a Hemi, and not just the stock 426 Hemi, either. The car actually has a 511 crate motor that pumps out 725 hp . It also has an upgraded Hotchkis suspension, auxiliary transmission by Gear Vendor, Viper brakes, and a racing steering box. Did you check out the number of people in the female category (18-29) who voted as opposed to the male category? Well, in general too.. there seems to be not many proactive females out there. I am just talking about business marketing here and not really about who's great kinda silly arguments.

 

Can't the bollywood music industry get any better?

One of my friends Dam posted our group with the following clip appreciating the beauty in the song (pun intended :)) Tak Bisakah by Peter Pan, a Malaysian band. Enjoy for yourself.

Albeit, I was taken aback when I saw this clip, created by one of the controversial directors of all time, Mukesh Bhatt and yeah the music director Pritam. Can they get any better? Indians definitely have very good business skills viz., getting silk from Turkey and making garments out of it into a Gurukant Desai industry (ref: Guru movie (2007)) alright, but its pathetic to see more and more such famous rich arses minting money by plagiarizing foreign stuff and showing them off as original.

Light at the end of the tunnel

I dont care about the captions listed in the pictures below and other pictures it came along with in a FWD. But I found this particular picture to be impressive. Photoshop or whatever it is, it in itself is a darn interesting, meaningful pic. Light at the end of the tunnel.. now, that makes me think.. what if somebody actually takes a pic from inside a god forbidden tunnel that discovers the bright exit of the tunnel.

Whatever it is, the future is pretty bright out there.

" Joan Allen is still tough and cool as Pamela Landy: "Trying to kill him [Bourne] and failing -- just pisses him off." Damon is still beating down whoever comes across his path, with wildly driving cars or sailing through the air as he jumps from one building to the next.

The Bourne Ultimatum trailer is out. Hope I see a comparable soundtrack to the Identity. That still has a resounding effect.

Traditional Music of the South

I listen to heavy metal and can even bang my head against the hardest rock ;) but in the end, carnatic music or rather the traditional music is what really enlightens the mood.

On a weekend like now when work is inevitable at my office, I started looking at raaga (penniless option of desis) for some soothing music. Beat the hell out of Gangster for the past one month and so turned to Telugu music where I found this guy's name - KM Radhakrishnan. No wonder my guess was right that the music of his album godavari wud be a delight to my ears. The guy who played the tunes to the masterpiece Anand an year ago did it again with Godavari.

Uppongole Godavari song's tune sounded familiar but listening to saassa paapa saapa ssaama... (never mind :)) the song sung by the evergreen SPB was nevertheless a great feast. Brought to my mind this thought if there is any research into how to find the effectiveness of using music as a sympathetic medium for living beings?


Looking forward to a musical end to this weekend after cricket in the evening.
